He said these things at a press conference organized by Chhatra Dal to demand the search of missing Chhatra Dal leader Atiqur Rahman Russell at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan of the capital on Thursday (July 11).

This BNP leader said, we are currently living under such a mafia syndicate, where those who protest will be expelled. Bloodied corpses of protestors against injustice will lie on the banks of rivers or canals and drains. We live in a country where the government has created a culture – it seems he is not the Prime Minister of the country. He seems to be serving as the head of a mafia syndicate in Bangladesh.
He said that today Atiqur Rahman Russell is not there, everyone knows that he was captured by the members of the law and order forces. He has also been reported in the newspapers, but is yet to produce him in court or his family. Where a motherless boy eats, where he sleeps, in which mirror room he is confined – we do not know.
BNP Senior Joint General Secretary said, currently the Prime Minister is creating one issue after another for his state misdeeds. Let people rush towards that issue – let their eyes fall on that side. The coffers of the failed government are empty. He has led the country in such a situation. Now he goes to different countries with alms bags and returns empty handed. Asked for 20 million dollars from China, received a promise of only 1 million dollars. He has cut the trip short and returned, though on the pretext of something else.
Addressing the Prime Minister, this leader of BNP said, “Are you bringing forward the Benzirkand, Azizkand, Matiurkand for this terrible economic disaster?” The mythological stories that we have heard, beats the stories that are happening in the country today. How much money is Benazir? How much land has been occupied? Their wealth is more than what we are getting to know in the media. If a PSC driver is a Class IV employee and has a wealth of Rs 60 to 70 crore, then Benazir-Aziz or Motiur’s wealth is much more.
Commenting that this government has created a permanent culture of disappearances, Rizvi said, today they have resorted to the method of disappearances and murders only to protect their throne. Because free and fair elections are the biggest fear for the current government. They are hiding Chhatra Dal-Yubdal and pro-democracy leaders to protect themselves from this fear.
