Petr Kott, his wife Kateřina Kottová and former Central Bohemian governor for the ČSSD David Rath were punished by the court for corruption cases surrounding manipulated contracts in the Central Bohemian region. Rath was released from prison on parole in mid-May this year.
“His activity, his performance as a medical practitioner in the prison, must be highly positively evaluated, and the conscientious and active approach of the convict must also be taken into account,” said judge Libor Hanuš to Kotto’s address.
After his release, Kott did not speak outside the prison. He only stated that he would wait for the woman who is still in prison.

„I took the test and I have to say that one conclusion follows from it, and that is that it does not pay to break the law. I was punished and I was punished justly. I want to apply for parole, breaking the law is not an option in my case, I deeply regret what I did and it will never happen again. I’m sorry, I’m ashamed, it was illegal and immoral,” Kott said in court. He declared that he was instructed.
Former ODS MP Kott was serving his sentence in Bohunice prison in Brno, he sent a request for parole to the Brno municipal court at the turn of August and September. The decision is final, conditional release was also proposed by the plaintiff.
He will go to Beroun
Kott has already made an appointment for a “spot” at the hospital in Beroun. “I used to work at Motola in the aftercare department. If I joined the same workplace, it could cause complications for my lady, who also works there in the radiation rooms. But he is still serving his sentence. That’s why I indicated that it would be better to arrange a job at the aftercare rehabilitation center at the Berun Hospital,” the idnes.cz server quoted the convict.

Millions in your pocket
The trio were punished by the courts in two branches of the case. The court initially sent Kotto’s husband and wife to prison for six years for influencing the tenders for the reconstruction of the Buštěhrad castle in Kladno and the gymnasium building in Hostivica near Prague.
They asked for bribes of 26 million, received almost 17 million crowns, when they gave seven million to Rath. Rath then received a seven-year prison sentence. The Brno Regional Court released Kott from prison conditionally after half of his sentence, but Kott subsequently had to return to it due to the second branch of the case.
