The court in Moscow fined Facebook another 21 million rubles

The Moscow Magistrates’ Court fined the social network Facebook 21 million rubles. for refusing to remove prohibited information, TASS reports with reference to the court’s press service.

The total amount of fines imposed by Russian courts on the social network amounted to 90 million rubles.

“The court considered five administrative protocols against Facebook under Article 13.41 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation (“ Failure to delete information by the owner of an information resource on the Internet, if the obligation to delete it is provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation ”) and imposed fines in the amount of 21 million rubles,” the agency’s source said.

The court also fined Twitter 5 million rubles, the agency notes. The total amount of fines imposed on Twitter was 45 million rubles.

In March, in relation to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Telegram and Youtube, Roskomnadzor drew up protocols in connection with the failure to delete information that involved teenagers in participating in unauthorized mass events, as well as other content prohibited by Russian law.
