Just before the start of the campaign in the group stage of the Champions League, in front of the captain of Maccabi Haifa, Neta Lavi, a not-so-simple blunder occurred. The midfielder was absent yesterday (Tuesday) from the match against Bnei Sakhnin due to the birth of his eldest son and now it becomes clear that the alliance will start at the same time as the match against Benfica Lisbon.
The champion will be hosted at the Stadium of Light next Tuesday and Lavi will have to make a difficult decision whether to fly with the team to Portugal or stay in Israel. This is an issue that should come up within the walls of the club and it will have to be considered not only by the members of the professional staff but also by the new father, Neta Lavi.
