Film producer and creator of the Kinotavr festival, Mark Rudinshein, has passed away at the age of 75. His common-law wife told RIA Novosti about the death of the producer.

The Kinotavr Open Russian Film Festival has been held in Russia since 1990, organized by Mark Rudinstein and Oleg Yankovsky. Rudinstein was also the organizer of the Golden Aries film award, which was established in 1991 as one of the Kinotavr awards. A year later, the Golden Aries became an independent annual award and was presented to the best Russian filmmakers.

The actor and producer has the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation (2003), is the owner of the UNESCO gold medal named after Federico Fellini “For his contribution to the development of national cinema” (2000) and the “Ovation” prize as the best producer of the year (1996).
