The pair of creators of “Fauda” Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff announced that they plan to collaborate on a series of productions in India, Variety reported this morning. The two were present in Goa on the occasion of the International Film Festival of India, where the Asian premiere was held for the first episode of the fourth season of “Fauda” – which has already been broadcast in Israel, but will not be served to international viewers on Netflix until January 2023.

“Our (production company) is looking more and more for international content – not necessarily Israeli, not necessarily American. We are already working on a type of Indian story that we can’t talk too much about,” Issacharoff told Variety. Meanwhile, in India, the first season of “Tanaav”, an Indian adaptation of “Fauda” which focuses on a special unit of the Indian army operating in Kashmir, the area of dispute with Pakistan, where, among other things, terrorist organizations linked to al-Qaeda also operate.

The two plan to connect creators and producers from Israel and India in order to create joint productions, among other things with Indian production companies. According to Issacharoff, the two have just finished a new series for the American Showtime network, and are creating a new series and a movie for Netflix – encouraging news about their continued collaboration after “Hit & Run”, their first American project for the streaming giant, was canceled after one season.

The two mentioned that they are working, among other things, on a production about the life of an Indian immigrant in England. Another project in which they are involved is a thriller about the siege of the Church of the Nativity (which took place during Operation Protective Wall) – a film produced by them, with a script by Issacharoff and directed by Antoine Fuqua (“Dangerous Training Day”). Unfortunately, it seems that none of the productions is a spinoff in which Doron is released from the army and goes to look for himself in India. But we can keep hoping.
