As part of its ongoing efforts to provide innovative and sustainable financial solutions to its clients, Banco G&T Continental, a proudly Guatemalan company, and Mastercard, the global technology company in the payments industry, present the program GTC PLANET.
This initiative promotes environmental conservation through a comprehensive package of programs and products. A central component of this initiative is Credit card Mastercard GTC PLANETwith which users will be able to contribute to Mastercard’s “Priceless Planet Coalition” and its reforestation efforts in Guatemala, guided by its partners Conservation International and the “World Resources Institute”. Every time consumers use this credit card, they will contribute to planting trees.
The local partner FEDECOVERA will be responsible for reforestation efforts in areas where science indicates we can have a more significant positive impact on local communities, biodiversity and the climate. He goal is to plant 500,000 trees, to capture 10,000 tons of carbon emissions and restore 670 hectares in Las Verapaces.
Additionally, Banco G&T Continental will implement the GTC Planet Construye initiative, in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC). He The objective of the alliance is generate a better place to live for future generations, promoting sustainability in Guatemala through financing and consulting for environmentally responsible real estate projects for those clients interested in developing green buildings free of carbon emissions.
