The Crop Tour by Grupo Labhoro and Notícias Agrícolasc started and, this year, it started in Canada! The team led by Ginaldo Sousa, director general of Labhoro, has already visited regions of the province of Saskatchewan where wheat and rapeseed crops from the 2023/24 crop year are being evaluated. Next, soybean fields will be visited in the Manitoba region, when the tour continues to the American Midwest.

“It’s a work trip, where we try to provide live information, measuring the crop failure wherever there is and, naturally, also measuring the crops with good potential (…) So, we at Labhoro together with Notícias Agrícolas and friends of other companies, we are here to scale and be able to promote the crop to Brazil, to the producers”, explains Sousa.

The images below are of wheat fields in the region. Canada’s 2023/24 wheat crop is estimated by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) at 33 million tons and exports at 24.5 million.

Below, see images of Canadian rapeseed crops. Currently, Canada has about 43,000 rural producers who grow rapeseed and the country’s production is approximately 20 million tons, coming from close to 20 million acres. The main provinces that grow rapeseed are Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta.
