The August full moon and the unique interpretation of Dimitris Bassis offered a unique evening to thousands of people of all ages, who on Thursday night climbed the “Kastri” hill, in the archaeological site of Passarona, for the concert organized by the Municipality of Zitsa and the Ephorate of Antiquities Ioannina.
The great response of the people made the musical event, organized every year by the Municipality of Zitsa at the archaeological site of Passarona, the crowning glory of the summer events. Dimitris Bassis and the talented Kalliopi wowed the audience with their performances, giving them a musical journey of special entertainment with popular, artistic and traditional songs.
The concert took place as part of the events established by the Ministry of Culture and the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage at selected archaeological sites, monuments and museums throughout Greece. It was the top event for the Regional Unit of Ioannina, held on the night of the “sad” moon of this year’s August.
The evening was opened by the Deputy Mayor of Culture, Education and Tourism Georgios Rados, welcoming the artists and the large audience. “On the last day of summer, we welcome you to our event tonight, which is the crown of the more than 50 summer events of the Municipality of Zitsa”, said Mr. Rados, thanking the employees of the municipality and the Ephorate of Antiquities for their kind cooperation, with aiming to highlight and promote the archaeological site of the acropolis.
