According to the lawsuit, SBP recently tried to contact a key witness against him – Rayne Miller. Miller was hired by SBP for the position of attorney for FTX USA, after working at the law firm that still represents the exchange in its bankruptcy proceedings. which began last November with the dismissal of SVP; the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), which sued SVP; and an adviser to Gary Gensler, who is now the head of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which also filed an indictment against SVP.

According to the application submitted to the court, the request was made both by email and through the encrypted communications application Signal, and contained “a hint of an effort to influence the possible testimony” of Miller. Miller is one of the former executives of the company who signed cooperation agreements with the prosecution, and therefore will probably serve as witnesses on its behalf against the former boss. This is in addition to his many connections in bodies with which SVP is now in conflict.
