Kuwait : The current shortage of some medicines in Kuwait will be resolved within two months, a local daily newspaper reported citing sources in the Ministry of Health. A large amount of fresh stock of most of the drugs that are currently in short supply is expected to arrive by next April.

Ministry sources also informed that 3 new warehouses with a total area of 5000 square meters have been set up for this purpose. These warehouses are located in Jaber Hospital, Old Jahra Hospital and Sabahan area. A strategic stock of certain medicines is currently available for 12 months.

Additional stockpiling of medicines will help to avoid future emergencies similar to what happened during the corona pandemic. Also, it is possible to avoid waiting for the arrival of drugs from international companies and factories for an indefinite period of time.

Ministry sources also mentioned that due to shipping and transportation conditions, closure of some factories, increase in the price of medicines, etc., the medicines are often delayed.
