Tesla is starting to supply vehicles to vehicle fleets in Israel. Globes has learned that Intel employees have received an official offer to take Tesla 3 cars under operational leasing through Elden. Leasing includes various charging stations and services of the company and its monthly price for employees is similar to that of hybrid cars in the same price range, such as Hyundai Sonata and Toyota Rav4.
It should be noted that since the beginning of Tesla’s marketing in Israel, the Israeli representation has been under heavy pressure from the leasing industry and from companies operating in the country to provide leased vehicles to employees. However, the company refused to supply cars on the grounds of a shortage of available inventory and in contacts with the leasing industry, leasing companies were offered unattractive conditions, such as a purchase without a discount.
It is estimated that a large proportion of Tesla buyers in Israel in the past year came from the high-tech industry and purchased the car independently as a replacement for an attached leasing vehicle. Tesla offers operational leasing in the United States and other countries.
So far the entry of electric vehicles of all types into the fleet market has been relatively marginal both due to the limited inventories and due to the fact that leasing companies have refrained from making attractive offers on them.
