On the afternoon of the 22nd, People Power Party representative Dong-Hoon Han had a dinner with lawmakers from the pro-Han Dong-Hoon faction. A dinner meeting was held the day after the meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol. People Power Party lawmaker Cho Kyung-tae, who attended the meeting, said, “We shared the severity of the future political situation.”
On the afternoon of the 22nd, Representative Han had a dinner meeting with close-knit lawmakers at a restaurant in Yeouido, Seoul. In attendance were People Power Party Secretary General Seo Beom-soo, Policy Committee Chairman Kim Sang-hoon, as well as Jang Dong-hyuk, Han Ji-ah, Park Jeong-hoon, Yoo Yong-won, Choi Bo-yoon, Kim Geon, Kim Ye-ji, Park Jeong-ha, Jeong Seong-guk, and Woo Jae-jun.
Representative Cho met with reporters after the dinner meeting and said that President Yoon had made three demands in his meeting with Representative Han the previous day: reorganization of the personnel of the President’s Office related to First Lady Kim Kun-hee, suspension of Ms. Kim’s external activities, and cooperation in related procedures to clarify Ms. Kim’s suspicions. Regarding the fact that he was known to have refused, he said, “(It was said at the dinner table in a bit of a way that he was taking a serious look at the situation).” When asked, “Has there been any talk of the possibility of a defection vote within the People Power Party if the Kim Kun-hee Special Act promoted by the Democratic Party of Korea is re-elected in the National Assembly?” he said, “There has been no discussion of that point.”
One close friend said about the nature of the dinner meeting, “It was about sharing the situation.” He said, “Since Representative Han was treated poorly (at the meeting the previous day), we are trying to treat him well.” At the same time, regarding the Special Prosecutor Kim Kun-hee Act, he said, “If the right to reconsider (veto) comes, it may be passed (in the National Assembly),” and “Didn’t (President Yoon) say that he trusts our party’s lawmakers? “Does the president think of it as our party?” he said.
Another attendee said, “Representative Han is a bit confident,” and “He is going in the direction that the people are looking at.” Another lawmaker said, “Good stories came out. “It means that we will work harder in the future,” he said. “I didn’t specifically talk about (doing well), but just that everyone should do their best in their respective positions.”
