More than 2 lakh 30 thousand people have been affected by the heavy rains and floods in Sri Lanka

The northeast monsoon usually falls in October and November every year in Sri Lanka.

Most parts of the country have received above normal rainfall this year. Accordingly, it has been raining continuously for the last few days. Thus various areas were flooded. More than 2 lakh 30 thousand people have been affected by the floods caused by heavy rains.

In Sri Lanka, the death toll from rain and floods has risen to 26. The government says the flood-affected areas are gradually returning to normal.
