Paris:

The world-famous Eiffel Tower in Paris, the capital of France, is lit up every day and night. The tower is illuminated by more than 20 thousand incandescent lights. Until 1 a.m. local time, the Eiffel Tower will be lit inside a lamp. After that the lights will be switched off.

In this situation, due to the war in Ukraine, Russia has stopped gas supply to European countries, and there has been an electricity crisis in many European countries, including France.

Considering this, the Paris administration has decided to turn off the lights of the Eiffel Tower in advance to save electricity. Accordingly, the Eiffel Tower’s lights will be turned off starting at 11:45 p.m. local time on the 23rd, said Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of the city.

Apart from that, the lights will be switched off at 10 pm in public buildings in Paris, he said.
