Perennial grasslands will not need to be restored
The Vice Minister introduced the changes to the declaration procedure and the most important problems that farmers will face. The biggest achievement, which will significantly ease the situation of farmers, is that in 2024 there will be no need to restore perennial meadows.
The changes in GAAB (good agricultural and environmental land condition) – requirements for the protection and declaration of surface water bodies, plant change, biological diversity and landscape elements – caused the most questions for farmers. A lot of questions, problems and complaints were expressed, so the meeting took a good three hours. The speaker was not able to answer all the questions right away, but those who want to clarify something or face specific difficulties in declaring will be able to contact not only the agricultural specialists of the municipality or larger districts, but also receive remote consultations on Thursdays on the websites of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Agency of Agriculture and by e-mail .
Specialists are well prepared
Jolanta Jasiūnienė, the head of the Agriculture Department of the district municipality, says that their specialists in the department and in the larger districts are well prepared to help anyone who faces questions and difficulties when declaring agricultural products. Back in March, they attended a two-day seminar, during which they not only got acquainted with the changes and innovations in the declaration, but also had practical sessions, so even drawing maps and plans should not cause great difficulties.
