The decline in passenger car sales will continue in 2022

The baseline forecast for 2022 for new passenger car sales in Russia assumes a 3% decline relative to 2021. This is stated in the presentation of the Avtostat analytical agency, which was reviewed by Vedomosti. The agency’s optimistic forecast for next year assumes a 5% growth in the passenger market, while a pessimistic one – a decline of 11%.

According to the forecast of Avtostat, in 2021, 1.48 million new passenger cars will be sold in Russia, which is 1% more than last year. In January-October, sales in the segment grew by 9% to 1.27 million units, the agency calculated based on data from the traffic police on vehicle registrations.
