Could this already be the beginning of the end for the Vision Pro? In any case, in the United States, the excitement of the first weeks seems to have been replaced by a certain distrust of an expensive and niche product.

To say that the hype was in order in the weeks following the launch of the Vision Pro in the United States is an understatement. If a large majority of stocks were quickly exhausted (we are talking about 200,000 copies sold in two weeks, editor’s note.), it would seem, according to Mark Gurman, that the excitement has calmed down somewhat.

Available exclusively after trial in the Apple Store, the Vision Pro would no longer be the star of these. There are far fewer appointments made than during the month of February and, even worse, some customers do not even show up for their appointment at the Apple Store to carry out a test and then purchase. “Demand for demos is down”explains Gurman.

“Sales – at least in some stores – have gone from a few units per day to a few copies over an entire week. Apple also had to step up marketing on its online homepage. There’s a huge promo for the Vision Pro right at the top of the website – with a much more aggressive pitch than when it launched.”

One thing is certain, Apple will have to convince developers to invest massively in the Vision Pro if it wants to convince new customers and retain current owners of the headset. In addition, an international launch could give sales a second wind.
