Passengers were left in tears after being trapped on a burning plane in the French city of Nice for 90 minutes, the pilot was forced to let them return to the sleeve to cool off when some did not feel well.
The British Airways flight from Nice to Heathrow in London was scheduled to depart tonight at 19:35, local time, but the tired passengers were left waiting for an hour and a half on the hot plane with no air conditioning.
“It’s shameful. Hotter than hell on this plane. British Airways is slowly killing us,” one angry passenger told the Daily Mail. “Passengers cried and were on the verge of fainting, it’s really disgusting that they don’t have air conditioning, British Airways is a real joke” the passengers complained.
Two passengers even felt unwell as a result and were taken off the plane, with the crew of flight attendants and the pilot apologizing to the passengers for the situation. “They handed out water and told everyone to go out to freshen up,” the passenger added.
Passengers waited in the tunnel to hear what was happening with the take-off that went wrong, the plane missed its take-off time slot because there was a general delay, “There are heavy restrictions on the French Airports Authority, which delayed them from getting a new slot,” a British Airways spokesman said.
After landing, the passenger told the Daily Mail that three other passengers went to the front of the plane to tell the flight crew that they felt they were going to faint, they added that the passengers received a package of rice crackers during the flight from France to England.
