The detention of a Beit Shemesh resident suspected of sexual extortion has been extended

by time news

Today (Friday) the Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court once again agreed to the request of the police and ordered the extension of the detention of a resident of Beit Shemesh in his 20s who was arrested on suspicion of extortion by sexual threats.

According to the suspicion, the suspect received substances of a sexual nature as a result of his relationship with the complainant. After the complainant asked to end their relationship, the suspect began to threaten that he would distribute these materials in shame, including a way to contact her, among her acquaintances and strangers.

Following a complaint recently received by the police, an investigation began at the Beit Shemesh station in which the suspect was arrested last Wednesday. Already on the same day, his detention was extended by three days in favor of the necessary investigative actions in his case and, among other things, during these days the police conducted a search of his house with a court order, where evidence was collected linking the suspect to what was attributed to him.

Today the court extended the arrest of the suspect by four more days, until Monday (12.12). The police investigation is ongoing.
