Within the framework of the consultation held under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the prospects for the development of the wine industry were discussed.
Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan presented the results of the study on promoting the development of wine production. He referred to the statistics of the world and Armenian wine markets, trends, development directions for 10 years, expected investment volume, target indicators, challenges and other issues.
A discussion was held on the possibilities and mechanisms of promoting the volume of Armenian wine production, export and sales. In the context of the development of winemaking, the successful implementation of other agricultural reforms and programs was highlighted: land reform, intensive horticulture, etc. Details were also presented about the process of geographical marking of Armenian wines.
Summarizing the discussion, Nikol Pashinyan highlighted the interoperability and integration of development strategies and programs of various branches of agriculture in the program of activities of the Government.
The Prime Minister instructed to discuss joint actions with the representatives of the sector on the platform of the Viticulture and Winemaking Foundation of Armenia, taking into account the results of the consultation.
