Today, Monday, the Iraqi-Turkish Labor Council identified the most important economic files scheduled to be discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while noting that the development path will provide hundreds of thousands of job opportunities.

Vice President of the Council/President of the Turkish-Iraqi Economic Relations Organization, Amin Taha, told the (INA): “The most important files that will be signed concern the development road and the dry canal linking Iraq with Turkey from the port of Umm Qasr in Basra to the Turkish border crossing.” Explaining that “the development path will create hundreds of thousands of job opportunities for Iraqi youth and encourage the Iraqi private sector to establish new shipping companies because goods will be transported from Europe to the Arabian Gulf via Iraq and from there to China and the rest of the countries.”

He stressed that “the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is considered historic and very important,” pointing out that “the visit will include discussion of many economic topics, including customs tariff rates and visas.”
