Director’s note

I wanted to talk about the experience of 19 years that I taught “Directing” at the Cinema Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

The joy I felt in a good course, the hopes to build one of the best film schools in Europe, the big problems we faced.

For the cinema.

In particular for his teaching, how illusion turns into emotion. “Everything is a lie – says “Nikos” in an exercise – but our feelings are real”.

For 3 generations. Between “Mr. Andrikos”, the students – a cliff separates them – and “Nikos” trying to pass his passion on to young filmmakers.

Finally, let me talk about a son who, with a very long delay, asks his father for confirmation.
