This meeting, which will take place at the MAP headquarters in Rabat from 9:00 a.m., will shed light on the role of the Directorate of Royal Archives (DAR) in the preservation, digitization and cataloguing of royal archives, a mission that is carried out according to the standards in force within the major archival institutions in the world.

The MAP Forum will also place particular emphasis on the contribution of the DAR to the enrichment of scientific research and the animation of historical production, in particular through the organization of exhibitions on a national and international scale and the production of documentaries.

Director of the Royal Archives since 2008, Bahija Simou is a member of several commissions and foundations, such as the Scientific Committee of the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Zones, the Moroccan Commission for Military History and the Moroccan Association for Historical Research.

A university professor of modern history, Ms. Simou is the author of several publications in Arabic and French, as well as a series of scientific activities and contributions to international conferences.

The Forum will be broadcast live on “M24” and “RIM-Radio”, MAP’s continuous news channel and its news radio, as well as via MAP-Live, on the Agency’s website “mapexpress.ma” and its Facebook account.

Having become a space for debate on current political, economic, cultural and social issues, the MAP Forum brings together representatives of public authorities and personalities from various backgrounds, as well as representatives of the media.
