Mumbai: Pathan Cinema Collection has set a record in the history of Indian cinema. Meanwhile, director Siddharth Anand reveals an important aspect of the character of Pathan in the film. The director has openly stated that Pathan, the title character played by actor Shah Rukh Khan, has no religion.

But director Siddharth Anand revealed in an interview that sometimes a cut scene from the film that hints at the real name of the character Pathan can be expected when the OTT is released. Siddharth Anand says that he and Aditya Chopra, the writers of Pathan, Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, had the same faith in character development.

Deepika Padukone’s character in the movie Pathan is being questioned whether Shah Rukh’s character Pathan is a Muslim. But Shahrukh’s character says that he got the name Pathan after helping to save children in an Afghan village. Those scenes are also in the film.

In an interview with Galata Plus, director Siddharth Anand responded about Pathan’s religion. Abbas, Sridhar, Aadi (Aditya Chopra) and I had the same creed in this regard. We believed in cinema. Therefore, he (the student) has no name. In the movie, it is said that Pathan was abandoned by his mother in the theater. At that time there was a scene where he was called Navarang. But it was later dropped. Sometimes it may be included during the OTT release – says the director.

No one in our group looked down on such an idea. Didn’t say it was bad. I thought it was a great idea. Later that character became Pathan for a reason. Now he has no religion, he only cares about his country – said Siddharth Anand.
