SNCF, RATP, fuels, airports, garbage cans… The unions are calling for a new day of mobilization against pension reform.

Uanother day of strike. The unions are calling for an eleventh day of mobilization this Thursday, April 6 against the pension reform, adopted after the use of 49.3 in the National Assembly. The day after a meeting between Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne and the unions and eight days before the decision of the Constitutional Council, on April 14, it is a question of maintaining the pressure on the executive.
Laurent Berger, head of the CFDT, called for “mediation” with the government, when others simply called on Emmanuel Macron to withdraw the law. Jean-Luc Mélenchon wants the “general strike” this Thursday, despite a decline in mobilization on March 28. So what to expect? We take stock.

Transports
The strike will once again cause disruption on the rails on Thursday 6 April. The SNCF plans three out of four TGV and Ouigo, one out of four Intercités and one out of two TER. In Île-de-France, traffic will be disrupted on the Transilien and RER lines, in particular on the RER D with barely two trains out of five. The RATP, for its part, announces traffic “almost normal with the exception of a few lines” this Thursday, April 6 on the metro and RER A and B, for which she is responsible, and normal traffic on buses and trams. In other cities, transport operators should communicate between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.
Air
As for the air sector, disruptions have been a daily occurrence for weeks in the main French airports. For this Thursday, April 6, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is again asking companies to cancel 20% of their flights to Bordeaux, Marseille, Nantes and Toulouse. For once, Paris-Orly airport is not affected.

Refineries
The strike also continues in the fuel sector. Half of French refineries were still shut down at the start of the week, but shortages of gasoline and diesel remain limited in the territory. Some regions, including Île-de-France and the West, are however more affected than the average.
Garbage men
If the garbage collectors’ strike in Paris has caused a lot of ink to flow, it has been suspended since March 29. In most of the other cities affected by the strike, collections are gradually resuming, but are often slowed down by the persistent blockage of incinerators. The piles of waste could quickly return: in the capital, an indefinite strike notice was filed by the CGT garbage collectors from April 13.
