Tiruppuvanam: In Thiruppuvanam government hospital, Dr. Balakrishnan kicked the seat of a pregnant woman by refusing to treat her, causing controversy.
A pregnant Soundarya, 24, of Thiruppuvanam Railway Beeder Road, Sivagangai district, went to Tiruppuvanam Government Hospital at 10:00 pm for being hit on her leg. Dr. Balakrishnan, who was on duty there, told Soundarya to lie down on the emergency ward patient bed. As the bed was high, the pregnant woman tried to sit on the nearby wooden stool. Enraged, the doctor kicked it and expelled the pregnant woman, insulting her parents and refusing to treat her. The incident sparked controversy on social media. An investigation has started against the doctor.
With more than 500 patients coming to this hospital every day, it is a recurring story that doctors are speaking ill of people, refusing to provide proper treatment and not working at night. The patients expect that the higher authorities should inspect the Tiruppuvanam Government Hospital and take action.
