Ambushes, accidents, drinking… everything is reported with precision. Since 2017, the Russian mercenaries of the Wagner Group take care to record each of their actions in the Central African Republic. These reports, spreadsheets and other reports tell the backstage of Russian presence in the countryfar from the official discourse of Moscow.

Between 2017 and 2021, Russian mercenaries, officially “instructors” to the Central African security forces, have continued to expand their military presence. An armament in total violation of the embargo imposed on the Central African Republic since 2013 by the UN. Cross-checked by different sources, these accounts written by the mercenaries themselves also reveal how Wagner looted and sometimes tortured the local population in the country.
