Borisov: I don’t even have Dogan’s phone, why would we have heard from each other?

Peevski is once again categorical – there is no split

The resolution of the conflict in the DPS is headed for a conciliation meeting, “24 Chasa” learned from deputies of the movement.

They are invited this weekend to her. Both Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan and Chairman Delyan Peevski are expected to be there.

Ramadan Atalai, Aysel Rufad and Jeyhan Ibryamov, who were expelled from the parliamentary group, were also invited to the meeting. All three are part of the Central Operations Bureau, and the last two are even vice-presidents of the DPS.

At the conciliation talk, an attempt will be made to bring back, at least formally, collective decision-making in the party. It is the individual decisions that are the main accusations against Delyan Peevski, after the tension in the DPS erupted this week. Such statements were also made by the second chairman, Jevdet Chakarov, who followed Dogan’s will and did not support a GERB cabinet.

The MPs of the DPS have been warned that the meeting will not be open to the media and will remain closed only within the group. And depending on its outcome, honorary chairman Ahmed Dogan would decide whether to speak publicly next week.

For two days, the ranks of the movement in the parliament are visibly more relaxed, but those who voted for both Dogan and Peevski, as well as the excommunicated Ramadan Atalai and Ceyhan Ibryamov, continue to come to work. Since her exclusion, however, Aysel Rufad has been missing.

Everyone assures that there is no split. “This is not on the agenda,” Peevski said on Friday.

Although the processes in the DPS affect the rest of the parliament as well, since it is a mandate holder as the second political force, the other parties refrain from commenting. And when asked if he had met Dogan, GERB leader Boyko Borisov burst out:

No! Under no circumstances, I do not want and have no business dating. He didn’t even call him, Borisov cut off and announced that he didn’t have his phone at all. Already on Wednesday, when the vote for Rosen Zhelyazkov took place, Borisov explained that the “fall of leaves” in other parties does not concern him.

Only “Vazrazhdane” does not shy away from commenting and attacking DPS. On Thursday, its leader Kostadin Kostadinov described the situation as “prosecution”, and on Friday, a scandal broke out in the hall between the two groups. “Vazrazhdane” asked how it is possible for one person to be the regional governor of Razgrad and a member of the Supervisory Board of the Agency for Public Enterprises and Control at the same time. It is about the staff of the DPS Sevdjan Sudkeev. And insults flew in both directions – “liar” and “führer” to Kostadinov, “harmful to his voters” and “political tumor” to the DPS. Tsoncho Ganev attacked the movement for ruling the poorest regions in the country, and Kardzhali is the most westernized regional town. For 25 years in this hall, I have seen people like you come and go ingloriously, Yordan Tsonev cut him off. And Peevski very strictly warned: DPS is a second party, a very serious organization. I hope colleagues are reasonable. I will not allow pro-Russian parties to mess with our people. Our people are not second class, they are first class. I will do whatever it takes to prevent anyone from talking to them like that. Pro-Russian parties in the face of “Vazrazhdane”… this is very dangerous. Never allow it!

However, on Friday evening, when all MPs in the DPS had already been informed about the important meeting, Ramadan Atalay blew up again with a statement. He was the first to reveal that Dogan called on Wednesday not to support GERB. And last night he announced to “Darik” that guards from the NSO kept Dogan imprisoned for years, did not even let him go to bury his loved ones – they could not guarantee his life if he came out. The security began during the time of Rumen Petkov as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, “at one time I counted about 40 of them, who did not give him the opportunity to move freely”, he said.

Four years ago, the NSO guards were removed and now Dogan is guarded by a private company, which, according to the deputy, gave him more freedom to meet whomever he wanted.

Atalay dispelled the rumors about the honorary leader’s serious illness: “Two days ago I was with him. He is so healthy, active, I am amazed at him and after so many years artificially closed so that he cannot get out”.
