The draft law on criminal procedure requires time to deepen the debate on its contents (Baitas)
Rabat – The draft law on criminal procedure, presented Wednesday during the weekly meeting of the Government Council, is a very important document which requires time for the government to deepen the debate on its contents, underlined the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas.
“The draft law on criminal procedure includes around 500 chapters, and it is entirely natural that the government takes its time to further deepen the debate on its various contents,” said Mr. Baitas in response to a question on the postponement of the adoption of the said bill during a press briefing after the Council.
Certain questions contained in this important document, developed in conjunction with the various ministerial departments, “require careful examination”, he said, noting that the government presented this text today with a view to its adoption during the coming weeks, before submitting it to Parliament for examination and approval.
