Nowadays the drama “Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum” is very popular for its story and star cast, the recent few episodes of the drama show the growing closeness between Adeel and Rabab’s friend Natasha who meets Rabab secretly. Yes, during the same meeting, there was a scene when Adeel and Natasha were seen expressing their views on paintings in a gallery.
In the 17th episode of the drama, these two artists were seen talking in front of a piece of art which was a picture of an innocent child.
As soon as this scene went viral, the statement of the original artist of the artwork came to the fore, in which he claimed that his painting was used in the play without permission.
Artist Safi Soomro issued a lengthy post on her social media account, claiming that the project included her original artwork without her permission, thereby infringing her creative ownership.
Safi Soomro revealed in a post on September 11 that he had taken his paintings to an exhibition at Friar Hall Karachi in 2017 but after the exhibition he did not get the paintings back, he was later told that the paintings were lost and He couldn’t find them, but now Safi Soomro has found his paintings in the drama Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum.
According to Safi Soomro, these paintings were his thesis work which was part of the Fine Arts Department of the University of Sindh, and he has all the proofs.
Safi Soomro further revealed that she re-shared the post from her official account as earlier the post was deleted from a group.
Following Safi Soomro’s claim, social media users also came out in support of her and suggested legal action against the Friar Hall, while many users also claimed that the painting was present in the Friar Hall last month, not lost. And neither was sold, action must be taken against them.
