/ The draw for the second round of the Iraq Cup Championship for the 2023/2024 season was held at the headquarters of the Iraqi Football Association on Sunday.
The draw was attended by the member of the Executive Office of the Football Association, Firas Bahr Al-Ulum, the head of the Competitions Committee, Firas Mutasher, and the employees in the Competitions Department (Shihab Ahmed, Sabah Nour El-Din, Youssef Ibrahim, Saad Ahmed, and Ibrahim Marouf).
The draw was also attended by representatives of (20) clubs whose teams will play the second round matches in a knockout format, bringing the number of qualified teams to (10) clubs, to which will be added the teams of the clubs that achieved the first six places in last season’s league, bringing the number of teams to (16) teams.
The second round competitions will be held next Saturday, February 3, 2024, according to the schedule that will be issued by the Competitions Committee. The draw resulted in ten matches, as follows:
1 – Kufa – Karkh
2- Afak – Zakho
3- Oil – Sulaymaniyah Peshmerga
4- The Cheetah – Borders
5- Dohuk – Maysan Oil
6- Al-Qasim – Nowruz
7- Port – Central Oil
8- Karbala – Southern Refineries
9- Baghdad Municipality – Al-Karma
10- Basra Oil – Najaf
