Baghdad – INA – Rahman Al-Bahadli
A member of the management of the Police Sports Club, Tahseen Al-Yasiri, confirmed that his team’s 0-0 draw yesterday, Monday, against its Uzbek counterpart, Pakhtakor, at Karbala Stadium for the AFC Elite Champions League, was unconvincing and tasted of loss. We were aspiring to get the three points and achieve the first victory for Iraqi football in this important tournament.
Al-Yasiri said in a statement to the (INA): “His team could have achieved a better result than that, and we have (5) remaining matches that are not without difficulty, especially since the administration’s ambition is to reach the second stage of the tournament.”
It is noteworthy that the Al-Shorta team played three matches for the AFC Champions League for the elite teams, tied in the first with Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia by one goal, lost in the second against Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia by 5-0, and tied 0-0 in the third with Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan.
