## Golden Blue International‘s Kavalan Whiskey Sales Surge 90% in First Half

Golden Blue International announced today that sales of its Taiwanese single‌ malt whiskey ‘Kavalan’ surged by approximately 90% in the first half of the‍ year compared to the same period last‍ year.

Kavalan’s popularity particularly flourished in duty-free channels. Golden Blue International ‌reported that duty-free sales increased as the per capita liquor duty-free limit was raised from 1 bottle (1L, under‍ $400) to 2 bottles (2L, under⁣ $400) in 2022, and online liquor purchases ‌were permitted at duty-free shops last year.⁣ In fact, Kavalan’s duty-free sales⁣ in the⁢ first half of this year soared by 92.9% compared to the same period last year.

Golden Blue International believes several factors contributed to this remarkable ‌growth. The recent shift in mainstream consumption towards differentiated⁤ products, coupled with heightened consumer interest in third-world ⁢whiskeys, played a significant role. ⁢Additionally, ⁤the company attributed Kavalan’s success to its⁣ unique flavor and‌ diverse⁣ lineup.

“The challenge and innovation‍ in presenting excellent products to consumers have led to these positive results,” said Park So-young, CEO of Golden Blue‍ International. “We will continue to actively promote Kavalan and solidify its position in the domestic market.”

Kavalan, a renowned Taiwanese single malt whiskey, has been exclusively imported‌ and distributed by Golden Blue International since 2017. Its distinctive aging process, utilizing the hot and humid climate of Taiwan,‍ results in ⁣a unique flavor profile.

Kavalan has gained widespread recognition both domestically and internationally. It has won numerous awards, including first place at the Burns Night Blind Test in Scotland in 2010, and has garnered over 700 accolades at prominent liquor competitions like the IWSC and SFWSC.
