Facing the harsh reality of public transport, a 23-year-old man found himself on a bus in Ilion yesterday at noon.
The young man went on the C12 bus with a cage in which he took his kitten to the vet.
As soon as he entered the vehicle and his seat he saw an angry man approaching him, cursing him obscenely and asking him to get out or he would kick him out.
As the 23-year-old says speaking to protothema.gr, the bus driver asked him to get out of the vehicle because, according to him, it is forbidden to put animals in the vehicle.

“I went on the bus in Ilion yesterday at noon. I didn’t have time to sit down and the driver stops in the middle of the road and a gentleman comes and starts shouting at me. “Get up now so I don’t throw you out with the kicks. I’m not the postman to carry you and this together”, says the 23-year-old and describes the horror he suffered because of the threats made by the angry man. driver.
“Then he was saying ‘Cut the blocks, don’t kick you out’ and his face was stuck in my head.
I told him that there is a law and that I have been transporting the kitten for 2 years in Athens with the cage, with specific dimensions, as specified in the law.
But he kept saying ‘get this out of here’. When no driver had a problem. This man knew the Law, he just had a problem with animals. All his behavior was vulgar.
None of the other passengers spoke when the bus was full, so I had to get off,” emphasizes the passenger who had to take a taxi to take his pet to the vet.
The young man, in his agitation, managed to take pictures of the license plates of the bus with his mobile phone and has made an official complaint to the OASA while searching for the driver.
For his part, the bus driver claims, according to information, that he asked the 23-year-old to stop because he was carrying the cat in a backpack and not in a cage with specific specifications, as provided in the regulation.
What the driver requires
“To be placed in a safe closed cage, dimensions 70×40×50”, specifically states the OASA Passenger Charter for the carriage of pets on Public Transport.
In the communication that protothema.gr had with OASA, it is stated that if the 23-year-old continues with an official complaint against the driver, disciplinary proceedings will be initiated for the incident.
