The EESC welcomes the President of the CESEC of Mali during the 154th ordinary session of its General Assembly

Rabat – The Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) welcomed, during the 154th ordinary session of its General Assembly held on January 25, the president of the Economic, Social, Environmental and Cultural Council (CESEC) of Mali, Yacouba Katile.

Chaired by the President of the CESE, Ahmed Reda Chami, this session took place in the presence of Mr. Katile who led a delegation on a working visit to Morocco from January 23 to 26, 2024, indicates the CESE in a press release.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Katile stressed that “this visit aims to examine the main milestones and positive accumulations which have distinguished the cooperation between the two institutions”, reports the same source.

And added: “It also aims to consolidate cooperation and share experiences and best practices in various areas of common interest.”

Regarding multilateral cooperation, Mr. Katile welcomed the presidency of the Moroccan Economic, Social and Environmental Council of the Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions of Africa (UCESA) and the efforts made to strengthen the presence of African councils in international events and high-level debates around the issue of climate change.

Furthermore, the General Assembly examined various points, in particular the adoption of the draft annual action plan for 2024 in terms of self-referral, in accordance with the new mechanism and the recently adopted criteria, the press release said.
