The army said in the statement published by its spokesman on its official Facebook page, that the military operations resulted in “the elimination of ten highly dangerous armed takfiri elements, after receiving information indicating that a number of them were holed up in one of the abandoned buildings in the city of Al-Arish.” The statement added, “Two officers and two soldiers were martyred, and an officer and three soldiers were wounded during the clashes and the clearing of terrorist hotspots.” According to the army statement, hundreds of criminal elements and suspects were arrested and a number of them were released after it was proven that they were not involved in acts that violate the law.
