Minister A. V. Velu has said that he neither opposes nor supports the eight-lane project.
Tamil Nadu Public Works Minister A.V. Velu, who met the media in Madurai today, said, “The chief minister should analyze the problems and bring them to an end as far as the eight-lane road is concerned. He advised the land giver to give the market value. We are not against this project. We are already ruling. We have laid and acquired many roads ourselves. Now we have come to power.
Roads should be widened. The production is increasing day by day like the cart you are going and the cart I am going. Then what can be done is to widen the road. Then the land should be acquired. Prove somewhere that the chief minister says no, the relevant minister says the road should be built,” he said.
