The format of this oratory tournament is inspired by the Slam Poetry, a recited poetry championship, whose novel format helps motivate younger students to develop their communication skills in a fun and effective way. Both the teachers and the students of the schools participating in the contest have received specific training in aspects such as creativity, the expression of emotions, the use of non-verbal communication or public presentation, among other aspects. All this, with the aim of providing students with the tools that allow them to lead communicative situations in an effective way, as well as to lose stage fright, express their ideas and opinions in an attractive way while improvising and developing active listening and empathic.

The second edition of the Fundacin Barri oratory tournament counted with the participation of 450 students and 55 teachers from 26 educational centers throughout Galicia, who formed 74 teams, divided into two categories for primary school students: the first, for those in third and fourth years, and the second, for those in fifth and sixth years.
