JAKARTA – Golkar Party cadre who is also the Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Bahlil Lahadalia, said the condition of the party bearing the banyan tree logo is precarious. Golkar’s electability is now only 6%.
“It’s already a yellow light, from double digits to single digits. One digit is also 6 percent. In the past during the election (2019 election) the Golkar party got 13 percent, the survey actually got 10 percent. But never 6 percent boss, Golkar is the worst 9 (percent),” said Bahlil at his home, Jalan Denpasar, South Jakarta, Saturday (22/7/2023) evening.
Bahlil was also surprised that the electability of the Golkar Party had dropped drastically. In contrast to other Jokowi supporting parties such as PDIP and Gerindra.
“Yes, like this, discussions with many friends, why did Golkar go down? How many ministers do we have? What’s more, we support Pak Jokowi, why do other supporting parties such as Gerindra go up, PDIP go up, let’s talk about the big 3 parties, OK?”
“Golkar should also go up. After all, Golkar also supports Jokowi. Jokowi should be successful with 80 percent electoral electability, which should also have an impact on Golkar,” he continued.
Bahlil believes that there has been mismanagement in the Golkar Party which has caused its electability to drop to 6%. According to him, Golkar should gain the same result as PDIP and Gerindra.
“Why did only PDIP and Gerinda get it, it means there was mismanagement. It should go up,” he said.
He also explained that the consolidation was not going well. This was based on complaints from Golkar cadres in the regions.
“Organizational consolidation, which has become a norm for Golkar, which often travels to the regions for consolidation, is now far from what was expected. According to their version, this could be objective or subjective.”
“This version is correct because if the consolidation is carried out properly it is impossible for the Golkar Party to go down, tomorrow it will be announced at 6 percent,” concluded Bahlil.
