The election calendar is working: What will happen day by day?

According to the calendar prepared by the Supreme Election Board (YSK), the processing of those who have died and those who have been stripped of their citizenship of the Republic of Turkey will be completed by the General Directorate of Electoral Roll, based on the information received from the General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs.

The place where the voters will vote and the ballot boxes will be determined

April 12: Domestic and international voter registers will be finalized. The places and ballot boxes where the domestic voters will vote will be determined.

April 19: The casting and distribution of voter information sheets will begin, and political parties will be asked to submit the lists of members who will take part in the ballot box committee to the chairman of the district election board. The YSK will send the final list of candidates for deputies to the provincial election boards to be announced by electoral districts, and to the relevant authorities to be published in the Official Gazette, radio and television.

Customs gates and voting abroad

27 Nisan: The voting process abroad will begin with the customs gates.

May 4: Freedom of propaganda and some election bans will begin.

May 7: Radio and television propaganda speeches will begin. Distribution of voter information sheets to voters will be completed.

May 9: Voting abroad will end.

May 13: The election propaganda process will end as of 18:00.

May 14: Voting day. The election bans will end at 24.00. The temporary results of the presidential election will be announced until 23:59.

If a simple majority is not achieved, the calendar will run as follows:

If the absolute majority of valid votes is not achieved in the first ballot, the election calendar for the second ballot of the Presidential Election to be held on 28 May will run as follows:

May 15: If one of the candidates entitled to participate in the second ballot does not participate in the election for any reason, the period determined for the replacement of candidates will end at 17.00. In case of delay in the announcement of the provisional results, the election calendar for candidate replacement will be adjusted accordingly. The propaganda era will begin. The period of objection to the district election boards against the decisions and minutes of the ballot box committees will expire at 17.00 and will be decided by the district election boards until 23.59 at the latest.

May 16: The objection period to be made to the provincial election board against the decisions of the district election board and the merger minutes will end at 17.00 and the objections will be resolved by the provincial election boards until 23.59 at the latest.

May 17: The period of appeal to the YSK against the decisions of the provincial election board and the provincial merger minutes will expire at 17.00. The district election boards will start processing the changes of ballot box committee and other officials into SEÇSİS. The overseas district election board will change the storage and transportation board, ballot box committee and other officials, if any.

May 18: Objections made against the decisions of the provincial election board and the provincial merger minutes will be decided by the YSK.

May 19th: The final election results will be sent to the relevant authorities by the YSK to be announced in the Official Gazette, radio and television.

20 May: Voting will begin at customs gates and abroad.

May 22: A lot will be drawn at the YSK to determine the broadcast and timing of the propaganda speeches that the presidential candidates will make on radio and television.

May 24: Voting abroad will end. Radio and television propaganda speeches will begin.

May 27: Election propaganda period will end at 18:00.

May 28: Voting day.

May 29: The temporary results of the presidential election will be announced. The objection period to be made to the district election boards against the decisions and minutes of the ballot box committees will expire at 17.00 and the objections will be resolved by the district election boards until 23.59 at the latest.

May 30: The objection process to the provincial election boards against the decisions of the district election board and the merger minutes will end at 17.00 and will be decided by 23.59 at the latest.

May 31: The period of objection to the YSK against the decisions of the provincial election board and the provincial merger minutes will expire.

June 1: Objections made against the decisions of the provincial election board and the provincial merger minutes will be decided by the YSK. The final election results will be sent to the relevant authorities by the YSK to be announced in the Official Gazette, radio and television.
