Today, Thursday, a member of the High National Elections Commission, Rabab Halab, discussed a number of files and plans related to the Women’s Support Unit during the next stage.
This came during a meeting I held with the head of the Women’s Support Unit at UN Women, and in the presence of Enas Oraibi from the Women’s Empowerment Section of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), the Head of the Awareness Section, Ms. Aisha Thaboot, the coordinators of the Women’s Support Unit, and the United Nations Election Support Mission team. At the Commission’s headquarters.
During the meeting, Aleppo reviewed “the developments in preparation for a number of activities aimed at raising the levels of electoral awareness among women, and overcoming the difficulties facing their participation through the programs included in the unity plan for the next stage, and what the United Nations mission can provide in terms of technical support and supporting expertise.”
Representatives of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya praised “the efforts of the Women’s Support Unit and the activities and events it provides in order to consolidate the values of participation.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, the achievements of the proposals presented during the previous meetings were evaluated, and a vision for the work agenda during the next stages was developed.
