/ The Iraqi junior football team managed, this evening, Wednesday, to beat its Syrian guest with a friendly goal, free of charge, as part of the teams’ preparations for the West Asian Championship.
The match took place at seven o’clock this evening at Al-Zawraa Club Stadium in the capital, Baghdad.
The first half of the match ended in a goalless draw, and in the second half, the goal for the Iraqi team came from Zain al-Abidin Jassim in the 79th minute, ending the match with Iraq advancing with a goal without a response for Syria.
The Sultanate of Oman will host the West Asian Cup, which will be held from 10 to 20 next December, with the participation of the teams of Iraq, Oman (the host), Jordan, the Emirates, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and Yemen.
