His Highness, the Emir of Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah region, also spoke about the virtues of the late, pointing out that the Kingdom lost, with his death, one of the most important pioneers of academic work, a symbol of archeology, and a high-class historian of the history of the Arabian Peninsula.

After that, the audience watched a documentary film that recounts the upbringing of Professor Al-Ansari and his scientific and practical career in the service of the history of the Arabian Peninsula, his role as one of the most prominent pioneers of archeology in Saudi Arabia, his rich contributions and great discoveries in the national heritage, until his death in the capital, Riyadh – may God have mercy on him – last March and from Then he was buried in Baqi’ al-Gharqad in Medina.

The Saudi historian and archaeologist Dr. Abd al-Rahman al-Ansari, who was born in Medina in the year 1935 AD, is considered one of the first Saudi archaeologists and historians, and he had many prominent contributions to the development of archaeological studies at King Saud University, as he established the first academic department of antiquities and museums at the university, He also discovered the archaeological site in the village of (Al-Faw), supervised the excavations there, and was a member of the Shura Council in its first and second sessions. In appreciation of his efforts in archaeological excavations that contributed to preserving the Saudi heritage, and for his role in exploring many archaeological sites and highlighting them as a cultural depth and an authentic component of human culture and heritage.
