A platform to bring doctors closer to technological innovations. According to research, only 4% of them have a satisfactory level in all areas of digital skills

The Tech2Doc platform of the ENPAM Foundation (National Insurance and Medical Assistance Body) is born. Developed together with leading Innovation and Digital Health experts, Tech2Doc is a project offered free of charge to all registered doctors and dentists, built to provide training and information on innovation and new technologies to support medical practice. With the Digital Health interactive map it will be possible to navigate among the existing digital medicine tools and have a comprehensive and targeted overview of the most interesting and useful solutions for the profession. All ENPAM members will also be able to access a news section and participate in ECM events and courses. In the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), the first item of expenditure, equal to 7 billion euros, is dedicated precisely to proximity networks, structures and telemedicine for local health care.

Digital skills

According to the recently published research of the Digital Innovation in Healthcare Observatory of the Politecnico di Milano, 60% of specialist doctors and general practitioners have sufficient basic digital skills (Digital Literacy), related to the use of digital tools in daily life, while only 4% have a satisfactory level in all areas of professional digital competences (eHealth Competences). The pandemic has highlighted the advantages linked to the use of the tools offered by digitization, but which highlight the lack of adequately trained health professionals. Tech2Doc fits into this context consistently. Enpam launches Tech2doc, a unique project in Europe – declared Alberto Oliveti, president of the ENPAM Foundation on the occasion of the presentation of the platform -. We will provide doctors and dentists with an information and training platform on the advanced frontier of medicine and digital science. We believe that the quality and the high specialization are the guarantee of the keeping of the job and of the contribution flow for the social security systems. This initiative fits well in the recovery and resilience plan which provides for investments in networks, structures, technology, telemedicine, digital innovation and research. We want to guarantee doctors and dentists access to qualified and appropriate resources, both cognitive and instrumental, able to guide them in the transition towards the future of clinical practice, added Luca Cinquepalmi, Director of the Future and Innovation of the ENPAM Foundation. Through video interviews, webinars, information pills curated by national and international experts, we can make the issues of Digital Health and the digital tools in use understandable, and offer content on demand and live streaming in multiple editorial formats, through a multi-device platform. always available. To make people understand, however, how to use the Digital Health solutions already applicable in daily clinical practice, Tech2Doc offers a reasoned selection of start-ups, apps and devices (including wearables) that are more interesting and useful for doctors and patients, thanks to the collection and review in detailed sheets of the various existing solutions, classified through dynamic taxonomic mappings responding to different needs and search criteria. Tech2Doc will organize digital and hybrid events aimed at facilitating the direct exchange of knowledge and offering the opportunity to experiment and live, with immersive and authentic experiences, the world of new technologies.
