The Municipal Housing and Land Company has awarded 21 affordable rental homes, whose rent will not exceed 30% of the income of the family unit. This new allotment includes two studios and apartments with one (2), two (14) and three (3) bedrooms. The houses are distributed in five districts of the capital, being Puente de Vallecas with 10 floors the one that houses the greatest number. The rest of the affordable rental apartments are located in Villaverde (4), Arganzuela (3), Centro (3) and Ciudad Lineal (1).
Of these 21 homes, 11 come from the company’s assets and another 10 are newly developed and are located in the eco-neighborhood of Puente de Vallecas, a pioneer project of the EMVS.
With energy certification Athe apartments in the eco-neighborhood are connected to a thermal power plant and have a centralized heating and sanitary hot water system and another for pneumatic waste collection that cares for the environment and at the same time reduces the energy bill of its tenants.
In total, this environment encompasses 12 developments, nine of them completed and three under construction, covering a total of 1,200 affordable public rental homes. The adjudication has been carried out by the Permanent Adjudication Commission of the EMVS in charge of the offer of 185 raffled homes in the first quarter of the year. During the past term, the EMVS held eight draws and awarded 2,469 affordable rental homes.
