About a month ago, the hit “Inventing Anna” hit Netflix, which tells the absurd and almost filmed life story of Anna DelbyOr in her real name, Anna Sorokin Which impersonated the heiress of millions of Germans who deceived the closed and prestigious elite of New York. According to the suspicion, Sorokin, who was born in Russia and came from a low socio-economic status, led all her wealthy friends to believe that she has access to the assets worth 60 million euros that she will soon inherit. During all this time she managed to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on chef restaurants, luxury vacations and even steal a private jet without paying for it.
If that wasn’t enough, she almost managed to persuade two major banks in the United States to grant her a loan of tens of millions of dollars to set up an ambitious venture that included an exclusive members club in one of New York’s most expensive locations. Eventually, however, Sorokin was caught hot and sentenced to 4 to 12 years in prison out of which she ran 4 years and in the end was released for good behavior.
If you thought the sophisticated crook would learn a lesson or two from her life story, you might want to think again, because a month after her release, in March 2021, Sorokin was apprehended by the U.S. Immigration Service with a visa that had expired.
