The end of the age of abundance

Time.news – The French President, Emmanuel Macron, warned that France faces “sacrifices” in the new era marked by climate change and the instability caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine which marked “the end of abundance“.

“I believe we are experiencing a turning point or a great upheaval. Firstly because we are experiencing the end, or what could be the end, of abundance,” Macron said speaking to his cabinet in a televised speech.

Referring to the war in Ukraine, he added: “Defending our freedom-based system in which we are used to living can sometimes involve sacrifices.”
