Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said today that the large-scale entry of Ukrainian forces into Russia’s Kursk region is part of a systematic effort to end the 30-month war on Ukraine’s terms, Reuters reported.
At an international forum of veterans in Kiev, Zelensky noted that the entry on August 6, as well as the Ukrainian defense in eastern Ukraine, where Russia has concentrated its offensive actions, are part of the path “to end the war according to the conditions of an independent Ukraine”, writes BTA .
“Our defensive operations in Donetsk region, Kharkiv region, in southern Ukraine, our deliverance from the Russian Black Sea Fleet, our operation in Kursk region – these are daily strikes on Russian military facilities. All this is our systematic way to protect Ukraine, a way to let’s end this war on the terms of an independent Ukraine. I am sure that we will win this way, no matter how difficult it is,” Zelensky was quoted as saying by Ukrinform.
The Russian air defense forces today shot down 2 Ukrainian missiles, 2 drones and 3 guided air bombs in the border areas above the Kursk region, the governor of the region, Alexei Smirnov, reported in Telegram, as quoted by TASS.
