The era of exorbitant fortunes

Publisher Malcom Forbes – also known for spending part of his fortune on yachts and Fabergé eggs – is one of the main people responsible for the fact that we have become accustomed to facing the biggest fortunes on the planet. Its ranking of people with more than $1 billion has not stopped growing since its debut in 1982. In fact, the 2022 list already had 573 more names than the last one before the pandemic, since during this period a new billionaire has been created every 30 hours, according to Oxfam.
